Quantum X Reflections [2], an international online solo painting exhibition by Karen Khan opens on December 01 and will continue through December 31, 2021.
Karen's current "Reflection" series of paintings questions our human identity, influenced by questions posed by quantum physics.
What is consciousness if everything is really energy? She is particularly intrigued by how the microcosm affects the macrocosm of our daily lives. Does this give us a new perspective on our existence? she juxtaposes everyday objects intuitively, using both biomorphic and geometric objects.
In Karen Khan's works objects are presented abstractly as pure form with no regard to considerations of their common usage. Reflections on surfaces and mirrors help reconsider space, while hanging objects defy gravity.

Artist:
Karen Bognar Khan is a contemporary realist painter. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA. She received private art lessons from an early age. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, she moved to New York City. She studied art history and criticism at Columbia University. Additional schooling included studying illustration concepts at Parsons School of Design, and later one year of blissful figure painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, Philadelphia, PA.
She pursued professional illustration and portraiture from1982 to 1991 in New York City and Pittsburgh, PA. She painted murals from1991-2001. in Pittsburgh, PA. She had an online company called Art Addict Prints from 2009 to 2013, to sell Giclee prints of her paintings.
She has been represented by the Goforth Rittenhouse Gallery, Philadelphia, PA, and the Steve Mendelsohn Gallery in Pittsburgh, PA.
Karen is a member of IGOR, the International Guild of Realism. She is represented by Manhattan Arts International, She has been a featured artist in the anniversary January 2021 issue of The Artful Mind Magazine. She was a featured artist at Artsy Shark 2020. She shows online internationally and has received awards at the Grey Gube and Art room gallery. She has shown her work in American Art Collector Magazine. She has done a number of public art commissions. Karen is a painter who was accepted into the online Herstory exhibit in connection with Manhattan Arts International. Her work is held in private collections.
Karen now lives in the Berkshires of Massachusetts and shows her paintings locally at different venues as well.
