Sewing Techniques Using Industrial Machines for Bags, London, UK

Categories:

This course is aimed at newcomers to bag making who have no sewing experience using an industrial machine. If you are thinking of attending one of our bag making classes but have no experience using industrial sewing machines we strongly recommend you to attend this intense introduction to sewing course beforehand. The course will cover the necessary techniques to be able to focus on the construction and further skills during your bag making class.

During the day students will learn how to use a domestic machine and how to care of an industrial machine, which includes:

  • How to use and control industrial machines.
  • How to thread it up.
  • Needles: which ones to use and how to change them.
  • How to wind bobbins.

Students will go through different types of seams that are used in bags, which can help them to design the finer details and finishes of their bags. They will leave the class with examples they have sewn themselves and with an understanding of what possibilities an industrial machine can offer.

This is a beginner course and is ideal before any Bag Making course or in conjunction with the Pattern Cutting for Handbag course.

Class maximum: 6 students.
