Two-Day Satchel Making Class, London, UK

Categories:

This class is aimed at anyone wanting to learn how to construct a satchel using traditional methods as opposed to many of the mass produced trend-led satchels currently available. The idea is to create a high fashion product but concentrating on the attributes that make a good quality satchel such a wardrobe essential - beautifully subtle vegetable tanned leather, quality fittings and a crafted finish.

All the pattern pieces are pre-cut for the students who will have the opportunity to choose from a selection of high quality of Italian vegetable tanned leathers in a variety of colours, and from a choice of buckles.

During the class students will learn traditional hand stitching as well as using industrial sewing machine techniques. The bags will be raw edged and students will learn how to burnish and buff their bags, giving them the high quality finish.

All the materials are included in the price. Please bear in mind when you choose your colour (needs to be done at time of booking) that there are two different prices depending on leather colour. Students can pick from a choice of high quality brass or nickel-plated brass buckles for their Satchel.

No previous skills are needed and the course is suitable for everyone.

Class maximum: 6 students.
