It begins with water, pails of water outlining a path toward the light from the garden windows. Patiently, through the dark they lead to three massive wooden platforms. Above them, a figure is visible, fragmented across three floating pieces of silk, ethereal and dissolving in peaceful surrender.
She is the feminine. Her altars are humble structures. Cleaning tools and sculptural reliquaries that pay homage to cleanliness guide the way to each next step towards her.
Cleaning can purify. You, me, her and others. She reemerges a clean spirit, in the light.

Anne Mourier is a French born, Brooklyn based artist. She had her first solo show at The Invisible Dog Art center in 2013 when she designed The Glasshouse to host her work.
In 2015 she exhibited in Venice, Italy during the Biennale at the Caos Gallery and the following year she did large installations in France. This fall she is coming back with her largest installation so far “Elevation”. In June 2017 she also published a book titled “Maries” that encompasses her work of the last 10 years and reveals her inspirational process. It will be presented during “Elevation” in October.
