Manhattan Arts International presents its annual “The Healing Power of ART” exhibition that features painting, sculpture, drawing, photography and mixed media by 60 artists from 11 different countries. This year’s theme is “Inspiring The Positive”: Art that serves as a catalyst for healing and raises awareness for positive change. We believe that art has the power to heal, inspire, provoke, challenge and offer hope.  It holds the power to ignite the flame in our hearts and transform our minds. The exhibition runs from September 1 through November 1, 2017.

Renée Phillips, founder and director of Manhattan Arts International served as the curator. She has curated more than 65 exhibitions in NYC and online, including several “The Healing Power of ART” exhibitions since 2000.

The Three Top Award Winners are Anthony Frudakis, Ober-Rae Starr Livingstone and Patti Bradeis

Anthony Frudakis: Sculpture - First Place Cash Award and Featured Artist Award
This sculpture is titled Tower’s Angel, bronze, 21″h x 6″w x 5″d. "The sculpture is an empathic response to tragedy 9/11. The sculpture, represented by a powerful up reaching figure, reminds us of the strength and timelessness of the human spirit." www.frudakis.com

Ober-Rae Starr Livingstone: Painting - Second Place Cash Award and Featured Artist Award
Every Moment,  acrylic, 36″ x 48″. "I paint with the hope of inspiring people to see the beauty that is around us all the time. Taking time to recognize the beauty in our lives opens our hearts and helps to lift us out of our daily troubles for a moment. This uplifting experience allows a movement of Energy through our physical body world that brings forth a healing vibration. This is the Healing Power of Art." www.ober-rae.com

Patti Bradeis: Third Place Cash Award and Featured Artist Award
Hope, graphite, carbon, charcoal, 15″ x 19″. During an unexpected traumatic season in my life, I began to draw. Each drawing refocused my perspective toward the lighter, happier, positive side of each new day. And… I have seen the same effect on people when they view my art work! Their laughter bubbles up from their bellies. Their slow smiles reach their eyes. And their gentle tears display their vulnerable heart. www.belovedportraitsbypatti.wordpress.com
