In Pursuit of Beauty

The exhibition In Pursuit of Beauty consists of three stages: the first was an exhibition with US and Japanese artists in Tokyo In Pursuit of Beauty: Tokyo in August 2017, the second and current show is In Pursuit of Beauty: Los Angeles with US artists exhibiting at SoLA, and the third stage is Japanese and US artist exhibiting jointly in August 2019 at SoLA in Los Angeles.

I carefully selected 16 artists from the Los Angeles art scene to bring a representation to Japan of what LA art is all about.  I also wanted these artists to experience the beauty of Japanese culture and I hoped that the beautiful aesthetics would be a big influence on their art.  The exhibition in Tokyo, In Pursuit of Beauty, was a great success and this exhibition in Los Angeles is to rekindle the experience and friendships that were formed during our trip.

The artists will exhibit three artworks: one piece that was shown in Tokyo, one piece that was influenced by their experience in Tokyo, and one piece that represents them as LA artists.
