An Online Solo Exhibition of Paintings by Fahren Feingold
Presented by The Untitled Space

April 27th – June 31st, 2021

The Untitled Space is pleased to present “HIGH ON LIFE” an online solo exhibition of watercolors and limited-edition wearable art by artist Fahren Feingold. Inspired by nature, and the self-healing properties of mother earth, the series will launch on April 27th and will be on view through July 31st.

Artist Fahren Feingold shares the inspiration for her latest collection stating, “High on Life is about reconnecting with myself and what brings me pure happiness. Trying to find moments of clarity and sanctuary in the dark and isolated days of the pandemic through nature, solitude, and deeper self-connections. Under the shadow of the pandemic, I began to paint the beauty that exists around me. I sought to reconnect with the teachings of shamanic women and plant healers, who were and still are, shamed for their magical work with plants and energy healing. Invoking their companionship in my solitude I let their teaching and guidance heal me. I began to explore and appreciate the figurative forms found in nature and relative themes on my mind during this time.

Reconnecting with the earth, moon, and sun, words and phrases stuck in my head - like the meaning of ‘home sweet home’ when we could not leave our residences, or how the word ‘FUCK’ quite literally becomes therapeutic when you shout it! I sought to reconnect with my inner child, by doing the things that brought me unadulterated joy. Taking barefoot walks on grassy lawns to catch the sun as it sparkles through the trees. Holding dandelion puffs and blowing their fluffy feathers into the wind while making wishes. Feeling grateful for the space and time this pandemic has allowed and taught me to slow down and soak up.

There are many ways to heal, and I think we must allow space for everyone to find their own path without judgement. As I started to delve deeper into the self-healing properties that our own mother earth can offer, I researched mushrooms, flowers, marijuana, crystals, minerals, butterflies – the nutrients of the earth and the words they inspired in me. With this new collection of paintings, I was motivated to create some wearable versions of the art. We are in an era of celebrating who you are and feeling no shame - this collection is about celebrating what makes you happy and connecting with what brings you joy to the inner most parts of yourself. Sunshine, flowers, mother earth, alternative healing practices and breaking free from what’s been holding you back from your joy. I want people to celebrate all of this by being able to wear art like wearing their heart on their sleeve.” – Artist Fahren Feingold

Touted as “a trailblazing artist on a meteoric rise” by Vogue Arabia, Fahren Feingold’s watercolors have steadily gained recognition from collectors and critics alike for their sensitive, dreamlike colors, graceful brush stokes and rendition of the female nude. Vice Creators praised her work, stating, “Feingold's watercolors appear to swim on paper. Her figures bloom and radiate with ethereal energy, and the occasional splash of bright colors imbues them with life.” Forbes declared in an interview with the artist, “She's all about girl power. Feingold wants to empower and question wider issues, such as female constructs within the contemporary landscape.“ V Magazine noted her as a “particular standout” while the Huffington Post said, “Fahren Feingold captures the space where the ethereal meets the erotic…Her artwork is an attempt to undo the centuries of censorship, shaming and patriarchal politics that clouds the simple beauty of a naked body.” Feingold gives new voices to women of the past and present while exploring larger notions of female constructs in contemporary society. Her palette of bright pastels and soft colors invites the viewer to step inside her dreamlike world.

Feingold’s artwork has been featured in numerous international exhibitions including a number of solo and group exhibitions with The Untitled Space gallery. Notable exhibitions include “Take Home A Nude” at Sotheby’s New York, “Moving Kate,” curated by Nick Knight for SHOWStudio in London and The Mass in Tokyo; “The Vulgar” at The Barbican in London, curated by Judith Clark and Adam Phillips and “Red Hot Wicked” at Studio C Gallery in Los Angeles, and solo show “The Peep Show” presented in collaboration with Fleur Du Mal. Her work has been featured in The Untitled Space group shows “Art4Equality”, “BODY BEAUTIFUL”, “IRL: Investigating Reality”, “ONE YEAR OF RESISTANCE”, “UPRISE / ANGRY WOMEN”, “SECRET GARDEN”, and “LIFEFORCE” among many others.  Her work has additionally been featured with The Untitled Space at art fairs including SPRING/BREAK Art Show special projects “(HOTEL) XX” and “EDEN”, SCOPE Miami and AQUA Art Show.
