J. Mane Gallery is pleased to present its Open Theme International Online Juried Art Exhibition.

“An artist is typically a being that is filled with so much passion, love, or pain for certain lands, people ideas or images that all they can do with that overflow is bleed it out by creating. And with this type of art, the energy will be shifted from the depths of them, and in to the depths of the audience to be felt. It is a dance. A transference. An intimacy. It is to touch and awaken another human a place they hadn’t known was aching, or sleeping. Both are opened. Both are nourished. Both are transformed.”~Victoria Erikson

For this competition, artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision.  The theme cold have been any subject and the artwork submitted varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction, and all media were accepted, including 3-D. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

Each of our themed exhibitions, awards for First, Second and Third Place.  The First Place winner for the Open Theme show is Carol Flaitz for her mixed media piece, Fissure III. Carol’s use of color set an intense mood and leaves the viewer wondering about the story of this piece. This is what set her work apart. Carol is also the Featured Artist during the show.

Taking Second Place is Jay Johansen for for his acrylic painting, Tibetan Woman. Jay’s approach to the subject, and his command of the medium make this a stand out image. And, Third Place goes to Bob McCormac for his digital photo, Wildflowers Of The Endless Mountains.  Bob’s effective use of composition, color and technique with the medium create the overall mood and visual impact of the image.

Honorable Mention awards were given as well.
