BRAIN CANDY: The Curators - A Virtual "Salon Series"

Country:

Categories:

Date:
Wednesday, 24 June 2020
Opening:
Wednesday, 24 June 2020 - 12:00pm

Dust off your tea set and join us for delicious treats and creative conversations with curators from a variety of cultural institutions and exhibition spaces. Inspired by the French salons of the early 18th century, Brain Candy is a contemporary version of this Enlightenment-era institution which provided a safe place for men and women to congregate for intellectual discourse.

-

Join some of the region’s most dynamic curators as they gather virtually to discuss their approach to the curatorial craft, how they are addressing the new limitations of the pandemic, and how storytelling will be more important than ever as we consider exhibitions in the future.

-

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the visual, performing, and culinary arts, it is our pleasure to offer guests an opportunity to purchase boxed sets of artfully-crafted sweets by our friends at Sugar & Scribe. 100% of the proceeds from these boxed sets will go towards supporting their restaurant during this uncertain time.

This event is part of Vanguard Culture’s FORUM Professional Development series, designed to support San Diego’s Creative Industries. Our programs range from workshops to panel discussions, to networking opportunities and are designed to educate participants on the business behind their industry. Participants not only make valuable connections with other creatives, but they are also provided with tools, tips, and tricks to help them make a living doing what they love. The FORUM is made possible thanks to our generous Professional Development Sponsor Jack Lampl.
