Wild Heart Gallery is pleased to present our 1st Annual Animal Artivism Open! This virtual exhibition features over a dozen artists in various stages of their career. The work is refreshingly varied in both genre and medium.
The theme of the exhibition is Animal Artivism. We asked artists to submit their best work about animal activism, conservation, and ecological concerns involving animals.

Miyuki Akai Cook won Best in Show for Losing My Life for Cocaine of The Sea: Vaquita & Totoaba. She describes the work, "Vaquita and Totoaba both live only in the northern Gulf of California. Because Totoaba's swim bladder is a rare delicacy in China, poaching Totoaba threats the Totoaba population also Vaquita. The swim bladder is so expensive that it's called cocaine of the sea."
