Don’t miss our first 2nd Friday ArtAbout opening reception of the year! Join us on Friday, January 14, 6-9 PM at the Pence Gallery for a wonderful night of art. We will have the 2020 exhibit in the Main Gallery, which will showcase various artists’ creations inspired by the critical events of the year 2020. In the Community Gallery, the Under the Surface exhibit will display exquisite glass sculpture by Salida-based artist Sean Free Alcala, the recipient of our Emerging Artist Award 2021. The Lover’s Eye exhibit will be upstairs in the Learning Center, featuring art by local and regional artists who have explored the theme of ‘lover’s eyes’, eye miniatures that were popular in Great Britain from the late 1700s through the Victorian era. Along the stairway, we will have a collection of paintings of local landscapes by Sacramento-based artist Danilo Campos.
