Touch (online exhibit)

In many ways viewing artwork through a digital screen impedes the viewing process, so how do we move past this? How do we foster a connection between the artist and the viewer, the viewer and the artwork in this new context? In an effort to remove one degree of separation between the artist and the audience, artwork included in Touch will feature direct contact between the artist and their artwork. Touch is one degree closer. 

The artist’s body must come in direct, visible contact with the final composition. This can be through painting with the body, sculpting without tools, cutting/smudging a photograph, and other mark-making techniques. 

All mediums will be accepted. Please supply high quality images of your submission for inclusion in the virtual exhibit. If your submission is dimensional, please supply photographs of multiple angles. If the work is in progress send a progress image and we will update the submission when you have finished the work.
