Javier Infantes Born in Estepona (Spain). Resides in NYC since 2007. He studied painting in Seville and Madrid obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. He also studied graphic design, photography, drawing and painting in Spain and in the USA. Javier worked as an art teacher in his country as well as an interior decorative painter and muralist. Since 1997 he has published his work in various Spanish media including ABC Newspaper and Claves de Razon Practica ( Madrid), El Viejo Topo (Barcelona) and Extramuros (Granada). He illustrated texts of Noam Chomsky, Stephen Jay Gould and an interview to the former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, among other illustrious public figures.
Moreover, he has been showing his work in both solo and group exhibitions in art galleries and international art fairs in Europe and in the US for more than two decades. In addition, his works are part of some art private collections in the US, Spain, The Netherlands, Cyprus. His work has been reviewed in different mass media in the US, Italy and Spain, having the honor to have been featured in January of 2015 in the Spanish leading art magazine "Descubrir el Arte". Javier was slected to participate in the international Summer Art Festival 2014 (SAF) "FEEL LIFE" organized by KateSHIN Gallery & Waterfall Mansion in NYC. The event featured original works by international contemporary artists alongside with the artwork of some more well-known names as Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Nam June Paik, Keith Haring, Robert Indiana among others. Infantes was invited to participate in the Martha’s Vineyard Midsummer Art Fair in Martha’s Island (Massachusetts) in 2017. Having the honor to show his paintings alongside with works of Chuck Close, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Mapplethorpe, Annie Liebovitz and Thomas Hart Benton among others.
