- About -

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, USA in 1948, I began drawing as a young boy. In 1977 a New York television station was sent to cover a group show at the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Art and Cultural Center in Brooklyn and singled me out for a special segment. From then on, my work was shown in galleries throughout the U.S. and Europe. Art critics raved about the mellow colors and strong emotional impact, but my oils and pastel drawings had attracted connoisseurs even earlier. Nelson Rockefeller had purchased an Oil on canvas from a group show in 1972.
Publisher Malcolm Forbes added one to his extensive collection in 1974. 1977, I was given a scholarship to the Art Students League, where Alexander Calder and Jackson Pollock once trained. My turning point came in 1977 when some of my works were included in a Bedford-Stuyvesant art show in Brooklyn. It was there that at Felicie Gallery Roland Balay, spotted my talent and signed me on.
