gallery km is very pleased to present Thomas Macker's (sign) [show] {trade}, an exhibition utilizing photography and sculptural objects to explore the intersection between natural ecosystems and built communities, and the way in which the impulse towards constant modification –and its resulting toxicities—obfuscates our ability to connect, while magnifying our desire for that connection.  The exhibition will take place from February 9th through March 16th, with a reception for the artist on Saturday February 9th, from 6 to 8 in the evening.

Artist ( Description ):

Thomas Macker is a multi-media artist whose practice involves the careful construction of images that subvert the teleology of progress and technology by placing them in the context of the universal and the interconnected.  Macker received his MFA from CalArts in Photography and Media in 2011. Currently, Thomas lives in Jackson, WY, where he works as the photography department head for the arts and education nonprofit, the Art Association of Jackson Hole, where he is also a curator for the organization’s galleries.  As an artist/curator he has exhibited his work in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.

Other Info:

gallery km offers contemporary programming in a wide range of media, with a particular focus on Los Angeles artists.   Since it’s inaugural show in September of 2010, KM has exhibited vital emerging and mid-career artists, in conceptually rich solo and group shows.
