Pieced-Out, an international online solo exhibition by Krysten Baryo, opens on January 09, 2023, and will continue through February 09, 2023.
Krysten is an artist from Pacific Northwest of the United States. Her work attacks subjects that resist progress towards social justice. She focuses on addressing quality of life for women, especially regarding consent, freedom of choice, and attention to society’s repressive attitude surrounding reproductive issues.
She challenges viewers to consider thoroughly what it means to value all people and a community including the differences we all share, consider what it means to fight for reproductive rights in a way that is fueled by more than popular media, and imply potential consequences that arise when the experience of these communities are diminished and brushed aside.

Artist:
I am an artist from the Pacific Northwest of the United States. I have grown up in a generally conservative atmosphere, and until going to college I could not explore what art, critical thinking, and philosophical ideas actually meant to me. I obtained an Associate’s of Art degree from Portland Community College before transferring to continue into a Bachelor’s program with concentrations in the studio arts and philosophy at Linfield University.
I’m currently in my last semester at Linfield University, and after I plan to move to Portland to continue working through my art and bringing it to whatever community I find myself in; I hope to continue working through my philosophical ideals while reaching out in the name of human rights and aggressively advocating for the reform of institutions that perpetuate inequality over women, persons of color, and the LGBTQ+ communities.
