Artist ( Description ):

Durham, North Carolina artist Lisa Bartell is known for her figurative expressionist oil paintings which explore the development of identity. The uncovering of traumatic memories began her painting inspiration. She has been influenced by Chagall and Modigliani. Bartell studied painting at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. She received a BFA from Kent State University and an MFA from the University of Memphis Bartell is an award winning artist. She has had several solo exhibits and participated in group shows. Her paintings have been featured in newspapers, art magazines and T.V. Bartell is represented by Providence Gallery, Charlotte, NC.
