Fractured Territory, an international online solo painting art exhibition by Alyssa Valdez opens on February 03, and will continue for two months until April 03, 2024.
Alyssa Valdez's work presents a world in which wildlife must adapt and evolve to the environment in which they live. Capturing the emotion and importance of selected wildlife, then removing and gradually destroying the environment by taking a saw to my completed paintings, her goal is to replicate the pressure of loss and isolation. The act of cutting and fracturing then creates discomfort and implies the violence of their home's diminution due to human expansion.

Artist:
My name is Alyssa Valdez, originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, and I have a Bachelor of Fine arts degree with an emphasis in painting from the University of Texas A&M CorpusChristi. In my journey of becoming a professional artist, my next step is to pursue graduate school with an emphasis in painting.
My current body of work explores the environmental relationship between wildlife and mankind, and the negative impact of human expansion.
