The Rise of Heroes, an international online painting exhibition by Nava Barenji opens on September 05 and will continue for two months until November 05, 2023.
Nava Barenji pursues art since it gives her an opportunity to raise her voice against the pervasive plague of sexual discrimination that plagues our world. Nava's rich heritage of Persian art and Miniatures, is her source of inspiration that compels to unravel the historical narrative of the encroachment of Islamic and Arabic cultures upon Persian society, and the consequent impact on women. Through a contemporary lens, she weaves together traditional and mythological elements, using them to depict women as embodiments of strength, resilience, and defiance.

Artist:
I; Nava Barenji, was born in 1993 in Tehran, Iran. I earned an BFA in Visual Communication from Alzahra University (Tehran, Iran) in 2016. I am enrolled in MFA painting program at Rochester Institute of Technology in united stated. I have participated in some group exhibitions such as Alzahra university's visual communication group show and a solo painting exhibition in 2015 at Sobhan art Gallery in Tehran. I have been interviewed by Iran's newspaper for my solo exhibition. I have been earned numerous painting and drawing awards during my education in art school. I started self studying in painting right after graduation while I was working as a graphic designer in a company. After I experienced all mediums during my educational life, I found painting the mirror that reflects my experiences, thoughts and feelings in the best way. Educating in RIT gave me the opportunity to evolve my art freely and show the oppression of Iranian women.
