Remixing Possibilities: A Solo Painting Exhibition by Gina Whalen

From a noticeably young age, Gina was attracted to the paintbrush and the feeling of putting paint on the canvas was exhilarating for her. She was mesmerized by the colors, shapes, forms, and textures. She developed a connection to the “universe” and blossomed into a Contemporary Abstract Artist. Gina is constantly exploring and experimenting with forms, lines, shapes, and vibrant colors. Gina’s approach to her artistic process offers an expression into her own life’s experiences, dreams, memories, and spirituality. During her time in college, Gina went ahead and studied the works of Jackson Pollock, Maurice Esteve, Paul Klee, and Pablo Picasso. Gina tried to constructively implement into her motifs a sort of abstract expressionism, strictly using oils, acrylic paints, ink, and palette knives. Gina has learned over the years to turn off my ego and paint from the soul thus giving her the opportunity to create from a peaceful place. Gina is currently continuing her fine arts studies and working from her home studio located in Central, NY.
