Elisabeth de Brabant Chinese Contemporary Fine Art proudly presents “Warhol in China”. This exhibition covers Andy Warhol’s first and only trip to China in 1982 as photographed by Christopher Makos, his dear friend and trusted colleague. The exhibition also includes photographs of major iconic figures from the New York Art Scene in the 1980’s: Mic Jagger, JM Basquiat, John Lennon and Liza Minelli, among others. Growing up in New York City in the 1980's was a epic moment, it was about breaking the rules and challenging the establishment. Andy Warhol and Christopher Makos were at the quintessential center of this revolutionary movement. Going to Andy Warhol's studio, The Factory was an unforgettable experience. Makos' photography series brings the scene of Studio 54 and the vibe in New York at that time vividly back to life.
