By searching how identities are built in the process of absorbing the diversity of values and their paradoxical eruption among globalization, we attempt to show different perspectives from creators and researchers through new ideas and methodologies.

Exhibition Structure

1. Cultural Event as Urban OS

1st floor (Space A) is the ‘site’ to realize the interactive dialogue on the various topics to think about the effect of the international cultural event in the city during the exhibition period. Which direction should the cultural program aim for? Mika Kutomi introduces her latest study based on previous research abroad.

2. Media and Design as Urban OS

2nd floor (Space B) analyzes our surrounding environment and explores the way of engagement with the society through the media and design.
This exhibition displays the work of Pedro Inoue who is the designer of ‘AD BUSTRES’ that sparked Occupy Wall Street and who has started the research of social participation and the project in Japan since his TWS residency program in 2014.

3.Art as Urban OS

3rd floor (Space C/D) displays the works by the creators who sharply catch how the art can pave the way to the future.
This exhibition shows new work by Yuken Teruya who has evolved the concept of ‘Asian Money’, and “Adaptive Actions”, Canadian-based practice founded in London in 2007 by Jean-François Prost who explores alterations in the workplace, the home and public spaces in general. (Cooperation: the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec)

4.BOOK CAFÉ

‘BOOK CAFÉ’ directed by book director Yoshitaka Haba (BACH ltd.) opens in the lounge space of mezzanine introducing the books, themed ’living till now and living from now' for you to think about the future of the city as the menu of the café. ‘BOOK CAFÉ’ suggests the visitors to encounter their fateful book.
