Transcending Boundaries 2015 - The Largest Selling Modern and Contemporary West African Art Show in London.

Aabru Art’s Transcending Boundaries 2015 is back for its third year – featuring exceptional never-before-seen artworks by 35 Nigerian artists. As always, Transcending Boundaries 2015 will be hosting select events highlighting the thriving cultural life of Africa. The show offers an opportunity to invest in pieces by well-known masters in their region and internationally emerging artists of great quality, all members of a prestigious association the Guild of Professional Fine Artists of Nigeria. Aabru Art and its show are paving a path for Modern and Contemporary West African Art in London by creating a venue to admire and buy varied paintings, sculptures and installations in mixed media, oil, wood, and metal.

Different from previous years, this Transcending Boundaries is focusing on the boundaries that have yet to be transcended at many different levels and in many different layers - in Africa and globally - the value of life, water scarcity, and many other issues. It’s about using art as a catalyst for change.

Aabru Art and its founder Anshu Bahanda believe in the strength of their artists to portray their notable talent and in the stories that their art convey. A beautiful example is Kehinde Sanwo’s Tribal Influence, an oil painting on textured canvas.  It is part of a series that pay tribute to Pablo Picasso’s career and visually illustrate, document and celebrate the influence of African Art, especially African masks and sculptures, on Picasso’s work. Is Picasso’s art the legacy of African Art?

The show begins with a 2-day program at Asia House and continues with a 3-week exhibition and events program for which Aabru Art is teaming up with Lacey Contemporary Gallery. The event will end with an Aabru Art Charity Day to benefit Tulsi Chanrai Foundation at La Petite Maison.
