Jamie Shovlin: Hiker Meat

Categories:

An exploitation film that never existed has been partially ‘remade’ for this, the biggest exhibition to date by conceptual artist Jamie Shovlin. The 1982 movie Hiker Meat, and its Italian director Jesus Rinzoli, have been imagined by Shovlin to represent archetypes of the style, and the exhibition will capture the genesis and delivery of this long-term collaborative project. Beginning with a straight-faced presentation of the film alongside props, costumes and background materials, later galleries will reveal the film’s imagined and reconstructed nature and critically reconsider the wider exploitation film style. Curated by Sarah Perks.
