Doreen LaScola - 'Still Traveling'

Traveling- adj.- going or being transported from place to place

Just like a physical journey from town to town, state to state, country to country, we all have our inner travels that take us through the stages of our lives. Sometimes those travels are in response to a personal quest, induced by our search for solid relationships, spiritual growth or our quest for the answers to the “whys” of life.

This show is a continuation of my TRAVELING show and about the internal meanderings I had while creating the works you see before you.  Continuing with my recent meditation process that began during COVID, these pieces subconsciously called to me and begged to come into existence. With a stream-of-consciousness mindset, as well as the single choice of a shape, color and medium, each piece evolved spontaneously. Like in life, problems arose and were resolved.

Without anticipation where the work may end up, it has been a wild and enlightened trip that delivered me to memory lane, mind’s eye visualizations, decade’s past, dreams and inner wishes, acknowledgement of loss, hope for the future, etc.; each moment different and each panel yielding a different locale.

It is my hope each work will bring the viewer to their own inspired destination as well as become a source of reflection for those of you who choose to spend a little time with them.
