Thinkspace Projects is pleased to present a myriad of new work for one week only this July. Although the gallery usually takes a short summer hiatus, they are so excited about the forward momentum after such a difficult year, that they have opted for jam-packed programming. Featuring a group exhibition, a solo show, and selected works in their viewing room, the gallery is thrilled to be bringing New Contemporary Art to the Los Angeles community all summer long.
In Gallery One, Thinkspace is honored to host a special group show bringing together ten creatives from West Africa. Curated in co-operation with artist Ken Nwadiogbu, this exhibition serves as a spotlight to help expose just a fraction of the amazing talent coming out of West Africa, in particular the countries of Nigeria and Cameroon. The artists featured offer a vast array of visual languages, all coming together to tell their stories in unique ways.
Gallery Two will hold a special mini-show from Dutch artist Super A, also known as Stefen Thelen, entitled ‘Trapped’ in conjunction with the release of his book by the same name. Trapped is an overview of all Super A's work made for this series. The result of over 3 years, this hand-bound book contains of photo’s of all the paintings, the murals, work in progress pictures and text by Katharina Gallade (Galerie Droste) and Andrew Hosner (Thinkspace Project). The gallery is thrilled to not only be presenting work from this series, but be celebrating the U.S. launch of the book.
In the viewing room, the gallery presents new works on paper from both Lucas Lobo and Imon Boy.
