Announcing prize-winning London artist Abi Joy Samuel’s first U.S. solo exhibition 4’ 33”.

Samuel's new body of work examines the intricacies of the human condition, inviting viewers to contemplate the essence of self beyond conventional representations of flesh and bone.

Anchored by two magnificent large-scale pieces, these elegant and sophisticated images are a visceral meditation that demand to be experienced in person.

Please join us for our opening reception on March 2nd from 5-9 PM. We’re very excited to have Samuel in attendance for this event!

Artist ( Description ):

Abi Joy Samuel (born 1993) is a multi-award-winning fine artist based in London. Working predominantly in charcoal on paper, Abi embarks on a spiritual journey to grasp the ephemeral nature of life. She achieves this by drawing from personal film footage without interruption, occasionally rewinding the video.

Samuel received her education in art and design at Central Saint Martins and the University of Westminster, where she earned a degree in Fashion Design. Her inaugural solo show attracted the attention of an art critic from The New York Times.

In 2019, Samuel was honored with the prestigious Lexus Prize at the Hampstead Art Fair and, more recently, awarded the 1st prize at Inch Arts Gallery in Manchester. She has also completed a 10-week intensive drawing program at the Royal Drawing School and in 2023, had a solo show at J/M Gallery in Notting Hill curated by Vittoria Beltrame.

Samuel regularly shows with London-based Cicek Gallery and was a part of a group show in Soho, London during Frieze 2023. This is Samuel's first US solo exhibition
