San Francisco, CA, November 7th 2015 - CK Contemporary is excited to announce an exhibition of works from renowned artist Conor Walton. “The Enemies of Progress” will be an in-depth anthology of Walton’s works. CK Contemporary will host the artist at the gallery for a one-night-only meet and greet reception on Saturday, November 7th from 6:00pm-9pm.

Conor Walton is an Irish painter with advanced degrees in both Art History and late seventeenth-century cultural politics. His work is technically masterful and provides a rich and nuanced commentary on serius issues that face society often with a “serious” sense of humor.

Interestingly, despite—or perhaps even because of—the uncompromising messages of his work, people seem more interested in it than ever. Because of his ability to generate dramas of ideas, and to paint them masterfully, Walton’s paintings are hard to look away from. They offer us alternatives to easy optimism including realism and cathartic tragedy.

CK Contemporary will be hosting the opening reception for this compelling exhibition on Saturday, November 7th from 6pm-9pm. We are located at 357 Geary St, a block away from Union Square. The artist will be in attendance.
