Special Exhibit:   Light up the World                                            November 18 – December 30

This exhibition is intended to be a celebration of life, as we enter the upcoming Winter Season.

Throughout history, humans have found ways to bring light and physiological warmth to their lives during the darkest times of the year.  “Light Up the World” celebrates the utilitarian and artistic translations of these traditions, through both historical and contemporary glass objects.

Notable New England based artists have committed to create specific works for this exhibit; some will be illuminated sculptures and others will be inspired by the concept of bringing light and joy to the world.  Contemporary pieces will be integrated with select pieces from the Museum’s collection which historically were a special part of lighting the world in which they were created.

The Museum is excited to share these contemporary and historic works in this very special exhibition.
