Artist ( Description ):

Artist locale: Marysville, CA, USA
Style of work: Contemporary
Subject matter: Wildlife, Animals
Medium: Pastel

Other Info:

"As a self-taught artist, I have always been fascinated with wildlife. Each animal is unique, and too many species are endangered because modern society is disconnected from nature. My art reflects these thoughts and feelings about our relationship with the natural world. I use a variety of mediums, and very often a magnifying glass, to capture the tiniest details. While painting these wildlife portraits, I connect deeply with the animals. My goal is to act as a bridge between subject and viewer; I want others to feel that same connection, to be a part of their life even for a moment." Kathie
