For Andy Ilachinski, a physicist, photography became a life-long pursuit the instant his parents gave me a Polaroid instamatic camera for his 10th birthday. Since then, he takes pictures of what calms his soul.

A founding member of Lorton Arts Workhouse Photographic Society in 2009 (near Occoquan, VA), my photographs have won numerous awards, have been exhibited in many juried solo and group shows, hang in galleries, businesses, and private homes, and have appeared in numerous publications. Featured in Lenswork seven times, spotlighted and/or featured in B&W magazine six times, multiple-time finalist and/or winner of the prestigious International B&W Spider Awards and B&W Minimalist Photographer contests and published on many on-line magazines and blogs (including Luminous Landscape and Shadow & Light magazine), my images have also been featured in Stone Voices magazine and won the international book contest sponsored by the UK Black + White Photography magazine in 2007.
