Views of the New Wonderful Earth, an international online solo painting exhibition by Maryse Pique opens on November 15 and will continue for two months until January 15, 2024.
Maryse Pique's goal is to let the public see what they want to see in her paintings, and that without restriction since she considers herself a committed artist who expresses her disagreements with subtlety, but also by leading people towards light and questioning. She is inspired and driven by the love of color and the sheer pleasure she experiences in the immediate, visceral expression of applying paint to a blank surface. Her paintings tend to be lively and joyful, but can also be enigmatic, exploring different moods and states of mind through abstract imagery.

Artist:
Self Taught artist, I spent my childhood on the Caribbean island of Martinique before moving to France and eventually to the United Kingdom, to end up in Barcelona. This blend of cultural inspiration forms the thread that ties my work together. By starting with a vibrant colour palette, I try to avoid being constrained by preconceived ideas of what painting should be, and instead allow the work to be an extension of my emotions and dreams at that time.
Abstraction is a vehicle of expression that allows my emotions to express themselves. I am guided by the colours that will calm the soul. It is by observing our world and human behaviour that I have become a committed Artist who conveys my message of well-being through my paintings.
My own experiences have made me understand that one should not indulge in waiting or moping about one's fate, but on the contrary learn from the bad to bring out the good. My paintings is here to transform sadness, pain, anger into joy and lightness.
