Among the highlights on display - always thoroughly documented by the Steinitz gallery - visitors can expect to discover:

Commodes BVRB

Two commodes decorated with pagodas dating from around 1750-1755 (Louis XV period), stamped by Bernard II Vanrisamburgh (before 1705-1766, master before 1730), originating from the collection of the Dukes of La Rochefoucauld-Doudeauville in their private mansion at 47 rue de Varenne, in Paris, are sure to capture all attention.

Bureau plat BVRB

Originating from prestigious collections - André Saint (1871-1933), Baroness Renée Éléonore Juliette de Becker Remy (1903-1987), and then that of Baron Guy de Rothschild (1909-2007) - this bureau plat (H. 76 x W. 172 x D. 84 cm) features a framework of Hungarian oak entirely veneered in amaranth. The handles of the drawers on the facade, the molded belt with palmettes and rocailles, as well as the feet ending in sabots, are adorned with gilded bronze; as for the top, it is adorned with black leather with a golden trim. Dating from around 1737, it bears the inscription «LG,» painted in white on the reverse of the right rear foot of the desk, but above all, the BVRB stamp (Bernard II Van Risamburgh (Paris, before 1705-1766, master before 1730) whose corpus was very limited in terms of flat desks.

Busts of Robert Le Lorrain

These pair of busts, dating from around 1695-1705 (Louis XIV period), depict, on one hand, the Venus de’ Medici, and on the other hand, a Faun. The latter displays a particularly expressive and smiling face. Finely crafted, these two busts (H. 44 x W. 33 cm) present a beautiful dark brown patina and rest on green Egyptian marble pedestals (H. 13 cm).

«Clock of the Princes of Carignan» by François Vion

Pyramidal in shape with rotating dials and crowned with an eagle, this precious gilded bronze, metal, and enamel clock was executed around 1775 by François Vion, a founder in Paris, who became a master on February 17, 1764.

«Nicolas Delaunay cachepots»

«Exceptional both for the preciousness of the porcelain with incised peony scrollwork under celadon glaze, originating from the Longquan kilns and dated to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), and for the dazzling quality of the gilt and chiseled bronze mounts - featuring smiling and winged satyr mask decorations, openwork volutes, interlacing friezes, and molded bands worked with stippling - our pair of cachepots, dating from around 1700, is attributed to Nicolas Delaunay (1646-1727).»
