Fragments is an exhibition of drawings by Tom Cartmill, looking at the possibilities of paper and a monochrome colour palette of hand-made paints. Much of the work in this show has been made during the recent lockdowns, pieced together from older, repurposed drawings.

The exhibition title partly refers to the fact that by their nature, our memories, our understanding of people, places, concepts are far from whole. That however much we toil in our understanding, or how adeptly we master skills, we do not achieve completeness.

To accompany the exhibition Tom will be giving an artist’s talk. The event is free and open to all. Check the gallery website for details.
