About the workshop
Yarn artist Clare Sams introduces you to the wonders of wool using knitting and crochet.
Sessions can be taken as a course or as separate stand-alone classes.
15 July
10:30 – 12:30pm – Frame knitting scarves and mitts
Learn how to use a knitting frame to create tubular knits for hats and mitts.
1:30pm – 3:30pm – Knit purl for texture
Get to grips with knit and purl stitches and learn how to create stocking stitch, ribbing, and moss stitch to add texture to your knits.
4:30pm – 6:30pm – Taking shape: knit increase and decrease
Learn how to shape your knitting by increasing and decreasing stitches ready for making garments and accessories.

Introduction to the world of crochet using giant hooks and needles and supersized yarn.
1:30 – 3:30pm – Crochet ‘granny’ squares
Classic crochet squares in an easy technique that can be used to make cosy cushions and blankets.
4:30pm -6:00pm: Crochet in rows and rounds
Using simple techniques to create flat, circular and tubular crochet gives you the skills you need to accessories, toys and home decor.
