Y:ART Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of its annual winter holiday exhibition with miniature works from a diverse collection of local artists. Y:ART is thrilled to partner with “Travelling Light,” a touring exhibition of 37 small scale sculptures by the Baltimore Sculptors and Yorkshire Sculptors Group. The Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 6-9pm.

"THE MINIATURE HOLIDAY EXHIBITION" brings together Baltimore’s immense creative community with the international artists in “Travelling Light.” Each artist presents distinctive small-scale works loaded with passion and contemplation. The majority of artworks measure under 12 x 12 inches and employ a variety of mediums including: painting, mixed-media, sculpture and metal work. This is a cash & carry show, with a rotating assortment of artwork, perfect for holiday gift giving. Y:ART is dedicated to supporting and advancing the accomplished local talent of Baltimore, while concurrently exploring global aesthetics. As we approach this unique winter exhibition, remember that “good things come in small packages!”

"Travelling Light" is an international exhibition of small scale sculptures by members of the Yorkshire Sculptors Group (UK) and Baltimore Sculptors Inc. (USA). This tour is the first time the groups have exhibited together, and for ease of exhibiting the works, they are limited in size to a maximum dimension of 8 x 4 x 3 inches. The title of the exhibition reflects the fact that the sculptures are being transported in luggage cases and have to be relatively lightweight. The sculptures reflect the practice of the individual artists. Both groups have existed for over 30 years and act to promote sculpture and exhibitions in their respective locations.
