"My work is tied to my life, and maybe some of yours? I have taken the Dutch Vanitas concept, using symbols and colors that reference my parenting, my marriage, woman, woman's work, society, and me. When I step back from the paintings I see a quilt, a quilt of experiences, good and bad, a life! These quilts enfold me much as those sewn for centuries by woman.
