"Gestural Geometry" Two-Artist Exhibition | Chris Trueman and Joe Lloyd

Art Merge Lab presents Gestural Geometry, a two-artist exhibition, brings together a selection of recent and new paintings by artists Chris Trueman and Joe Lloyd. The exhibition highlights works that are evocative, historically informed, and that reveal the enduring paradoxes and continuing potential of abstract painting. Both artists see a breakdown in the geometric forms of abstract art between an appeal to ideal and timeless geometric forms, and the unavoidable reconciliation with imperfect and anecdotal material reality. Rather than resolve the contradictions, they are allowed to coexist in their works in unstable, yet compelling combinations.
